Firearm safety training and time on the range at South Bay Rod and Gun Club. Students will first receive firearm safety instruction from a firearms instructor and homeschooling mom, Alisha Curtin, and will then spend some time on the range where they’ll fire a pistol (.22), rifle (.22) and shotgun (12 gauge) 2 hours total plus a 30-minute lunch.

Larger caliber handguns (either 9mm or 40mm) are available for those who are safe and do well with the smaller caliber and are ready to take it up a notch.

Open to ages mature 11 and up (firm on age).

Note if your student is over the age of 17:

Age 18 is welcome if a senior in high school only; but please add $15 to your payment as they have to pay the adult range fee rate.

This is a private training. There will be no more that 6 people in the group. And it is for children only. The other training offered is in a large group & also includes parents walking around distracting. This private training also includes gun safety & range time with all 3 types of firearms. The other group is only with a rifle. Being a smaller group, each child will get the individual care they need including more range time rather than in a large group.

What you need to bring: sack lunch, closed toe shoes, no tank tops or low cut shirts (brass is hot!). Note: foam inner ears provided, however outer ears are also recommended, if you have them.

If you have your own firearm(s) that you would prefer your student learn to safely operate and shoot, please contact Alisha Curtin to make arrangements.

Fee covers everything: range time, eye and ear protection, use of firearms and all ammunition.
