Veronica is married with two children and is a native Californian. Veronica graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She enjoys teaching all subjects but has a love for science and history. She has been an aide in classrooms, has worked and tutored high school students in science, and worked with elementary age children. Her husband is retired Navy, her daughter will be a college freshman Fall 2022, and her son will be a 6th grader. She has been homeschooling her son for six years. She started her homeschool journey because her son has severe food allergies but quickly discovered that she and her son both really enjoyed it. Karin Leonard is a homeschooling mom and a classically trained pianist. For over 30 years, she has taught beginner to advanced level music to people from ages 5 to 95. Mary Resenbeck began her career as an educator in 2000 at a private Montessori Performing Arts School in San Diego. Monica Jenkins has been in the field of education for over 20 years. She attended Arizona State University and earned a BA in English. Monica also played basketball while I attended ASU! She loves learning new things and enjoys teaching. She learned to love working with children while doing missionary work in South America for 18 months. Monica is a Southern California native and enjoys spending time with her husband of 24 years and their 4 children. She enjoys reading and attending her children’s activities. Monica looks forward to a great year of helping children develop curiosity, excitement, and a habit for learning!

Monica is teaching under Elizabeth Blackmore. Elizabeth is excited to begin her 4th year of teaching at HEC! Elizabeth received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, with an emphasis in children with exceptional needs, from Idaho State University. She has extensive training in children’s literacy and teaching English as a second language. Elizabeth is also fluent in conversational American Sign Language. As the mother of 6 children, Elizabeth has been homeschooling for 15 years. She has taught various classes, including homeschool co-op math, science and writing classes, inclusive preschool, K-3 public and partnership classes, science classes at the Idaho State University Natural History Museum and reading support classes at Idaho State University’s Partnership School. Elizabeth enjoys working with children of all ages and looks forward to working with your child as they learn through exploration and child centered activities. Elizabeth insists that almost anything can be taught through a game and that every child is capable of absolutely incredible things. She looks forward to partnering with you on your child's educational journey.

Deborah York has been teaching for four years and has worked with all ages Elementary-High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated with honors. Since becoming a teacher, she has found a passion for making historical studies exciting and engaging for all ages. Deborah also has seven years of experience in competitive forensics and deeply enjoys coaching speech and debate. When she isn't teaching her students, Deborah enjoys adventuring with her three children.
